This artwork "The Artery" is a memorial about aids. It was conceived by the french artist Fabrice Hybert to be a place for living and remembrance. It is a 1001 sq. m. mosaic of ceramic tiles representing various aspects - i.e. medical, economic, social and imaginary - of the fight against the AIDS virus. There is no set way of reading the piece: it is about the history of AIDS and the fight against the pandemic. You can start with one image, which then can lead to others, opening the way to a story that each can experience and develop.
