The sculpture "Go!" by Pia Stadtbäumer shows a teenage boy riding a mule loaded with a boom box radio, roller skates, earphones, and other objects of youth "Trash Culture" . The young adventurer, like a suburban Don Quixote cartoon hero symbolizes the happy recklessness of youth and his dream of freedom. This sculpture by Pia Stadtbäumer is a kind of an equestrian statue. The artist plays the parallels and oppositions of her work with the traditional equestrian statues located in parks and historic town centers. This creates a constrast between the classical equestrian statue and the dynamism of the polychrome sculpture of this young adventurer. Most statues have an epic appearance, but this one looks relaxed. You can also enjoy the contrast between the proud horse and the humble mule.
The sculpture turns slowly on its axis and the sound of a mule's hehaw is heard from time to time, causing surprise and amusement.
