The Dutch artist Hans van Houwelingen made a large copy of a marble statue of the Virgin Mary with the child Jesus in her arms, dating from the seventeenth century. The stigmata in the hand of the Jesus allows water to flow into a basin at the base.
Rather than find it inside the church we encountered this sculpture outside, which telescopes the past and present.
