Because of its strategic location and its proximity to the famous soccer stadium the U-Bahn metro station of Frottmaning is a busy and crowded stop on the line.
In order to address the great traffic there, Peter Kogler decided to treat a 250 meters long. By creating a strong black and white design – directly painted on the concrete wall - he has created a dramatic contrast to the soft filtering canopy above.
The power of theses graphic lines reminds us of a graffiti gesture that reaches iconic strength. The complex network of fluid and dynamic lines is computer-generated and typical of Kogler’s artistic vocabulary. It reminds us of tubes, or brain connections…
The complexity of the work lies in how the viewer experiences it, The work evolves and changes as one moves along the wall and views it from a different angle. The dynamic design can also be viewed as an interpretation of the intense movement and choreography of a soccer game.
